We CARE about YOUR Eye Care!
When Lee Street and Tom Dunningham took over Glennie Opticians last spring they knew they would carry on with the care and expertise that was already well established within the Opticians. They decided too that they would give the practice a new name and colour scheme and that’s all that has changed as the eye care provided remains unchanged and opticians Lee and Tom are now keen to expand and upgrade the eye care available.
With this in mind they have invested in an OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography) machine which will take a 3-D scan of the eye to allow them to see parts of the eye that are not visible in a standard eye test. It is a state of the art piece of equipment that is usually found only in hospitals. Using the OCT scanner will allow early detection and monitoring of many eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and keratoconus. Early detection of these and other conditions means early treatment, ensuring the best vision and eye-health for their patients. There is a small charge of £10 for this quick and painless test that can be done at the time of eye test so no need to book an extra appointment.
The Opticians are a professional and friendly family-run practice who cares about the local Border communities. Everyone is entitled to a free sight test under NHS Scotland regulations and The Opticians also stress the importance of children having regular eye tests to check for any early sight or eye health problems.
All the services you would expect are available from The Opticians with a superb range of frames; Classic; trendy; budget; designer, and highly trained optical assistants to advise you on the best frame and lens choice for you.
They also provide a domiciliary home visit service for people who are housebound.
Eye care is an important part of your overall health and we look forward to welcoming you to The Opticians.
