Our new 3-d scanner has arrived.

Our OCT scanner has arrived in the practice. Why not book an appointment for yours today?
OCT – Ocular Coherence Tomography – is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to illustrate the different layers that make up the back and front of your eye. It allows us to ‘see below the surface’.
This state of the art equipment takes a three dimensional cross sectional scan of the back of your eye in one sitting. Along with your retinal photograph and eye examination this allows us to instantly diagnose a number of conditions. The scan is non-invasive, painless, quick and simple.
The images are stored on our computers – so we can monitor changes to the condition of your retina with every eye examination you have. This gives you and us an invaluable on-going record of the health and condition of your eyes.
This highly advanced screening system checks for potentially serious conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, age related macula degeneration, vitreous detachments and more.
There is an additional charge for the OCT scan, but the benefits are obvious. So you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your eyes are in great condition.
Ask today when you book your appointment to include the scan or discuss it with your optometrist first. OCT screening will safeguard your eye health.
